We couldn’t wait for this year’s Met Gala… and while it wasn’t on the traditional first Monday in May, after being cancelled last year (thank you COVID), the celebrities hitting the Met Gala Red Carpet brought the glamour! We were excited to see what designers had been working on for this year’s theme “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”.

There was a mix of old world glamour and forward thinking looks, wearable to the avant-garde. There were plenty of American designers represented on the red carpet, but there were stunning international looks too. It was also refreshing to see more models, actresses and celebrities of all shapes and sizes on the red carpet this year.

These are a few of our favourites:

Paloma Elsesser in Zac Posen.

Model Paloma set hearts racing in this fitted, red dress. The satin V design on the bodice accentuates her stunning figure. We love her burlesque inspired hair and make up to complete the look.

Billie Eilish in Oscar de la Renta.

Wow, wow, wow! This was quite a different look for this year’s co-chair Billie Eilish. Channelling old world glamour, we get serious Marilyn Monroe vibes from her look. The delicate, sheer, off shoulder design flatters her figure perfectly.

Rose Leslie in Oscar de la Renta.

That’s one way to brighten up the red carpet! Actress Rose Leslie shone in a canary yellow, strapless dress for her first Met Gala. She kept accessories and make up minimal to let the dress do the talking.

Barbie Ferreira in Jonathan Simkhai.

This pearl-encrusted gown is giving us old Hollywood, flapper vibes. The pearl and beading details highlight the actress’ hourglass figure. Dramatic eye make-up completed the look, without being over the top.
