As the cold season approaches and the mornings and evenings turn crisp, we begin to pull out our winter layers and start shopping for some new pieces to update our wardrobe. There’s nothing better on a cold winters day than snuggling into a warm winter coat.
There was a big variety of coats displayed on the runways for winter 2021. In general, most coats were cosy, puffy or oversized to keep the wearer safe and warm. You probably have your favourite go-to coat sorted, so we have put together some of our new season fashion coats and jackets to update your winter wardrobe.
Faux Fur Coats – Whistler Coat
Buying fur was once an ethical choice. But over the years, with the increased awareness of animal rights and improved technology, faux fur now leads the way. Even the designer runways were full of faux fur this season. The Whistler Coat features a luxurious, soft faux fur in a beautiful navy tone. On trend, yet classic, navy goes with just about everything. The easy to wear silhouette is so versatile; it can be paired with jeans and a t-shirt or worn over a dress for a winter wedding.
A Teddy Coat – Boston Coat
Stylist Penelope Cadzow recommended 3 key coats for this winter; one being the Teddy Coat. “This trend has been around a few winters and is continuing… stick to a neutral to go with everything…’. The Boston Coat in chocolate brown is perfect for layering with black, neutral or warm spicy tones. It’s also incredibly cuddly and warm. The teddy faux fur will add texture and interest instantly to your outfit.
The Trench Coat – Montmartre Jacket
Trench coats were all over the cat walk for this season. However the design, colour and style varied greatly from designer to designer. What we know, is that a trench coat is a staple in your wardrobe and a must have for those trans-seasonal days and nights. The Montmartre Jacket in black and Montmartre Rose Jacket are the perfect trans-seasonal trench coats with the ¾ sleeve and open waterfall neckline. Choose between the more fashion forward pink Montmartre Rose Jacket in a viscose polyester twill or the classic black Montmartre Jacket in a stretch polyester.
Figure Hugging Coats – Hollywood Coat
In contrast to the oversized and flowing styles on offer this season, figure hugging coats are trending this season. By figure hugging, we simply mean fitted at the waist and well-tailored so they are both flattering and comfortable to wear. The Hollywood Coat is a neat, tailored style perfect for showing off your curves. The black and white jacquard fabric has a slight stretch making it even more comfortable to wear.
