What to do for the Easter holidays?! April 16, 2019 – Posted in: Estelle News, Events

Does anyone else feel like it was JUST Christmas? This year is flying by and the Easter holidays are upon us already. If you haven’t had the time or energy to plan your holidays don’t worry, we have done the work for you! We have found some of the best events happening over Easter across Australia.

Whether you are looking to entertain yourself and your friends, your family, your kids or all of the above, we have an event for you!

Turn your grocery shopping into an outing:

Whether you are religious or not, Good Friday is a day a lot of people avoid eating red meat. Spend the morning at your local market stocking up on fresh seafood and fruit and vegetables. Enjoy a coffee and hot cross bun while you are there and take in all the smells and sounds of the fresh market! If you want to avoid the crowds, arrive early. The Sydney fish market opens at 5am!

Visit the gallery:

No matter where you live there is a local gallery. They are also a great place to take the kids as they often run school holiday programs.

Here’s a few of our favourites:

For the sweet tooth:

If you are still craving something sweet after all those Easter eggs and hot cross buns and are in Sydney be sure to head to Dessert Lane or Sugar Republic. From a rainbow, sweet filled laneway to lolly themed art installations these 2 events will cure any sweet tooth!

If you are in Melbourne head to the Espy (yes you heard correctly) from 16th – 18th April for a silent disco, games of giant Jenga and mega Connect 4, face painting, comedy, an immersive water-synth activation from the Swell Music and Arts program and many other offbeat activities. Sign up on their website here.

Or if you are looking to head outdoors don’t miss the Melbourne Zoo’s Neon Playground. Experience Melbourne Zoo after dark as it’s transformed with lights, projections, art installations, interactive performances, and more. Bringing Melbourne’s vibrant culture to the lush grounds of the Zoo, Neon Playground is a new event celebrating wildlife conservation with a showcase of some of the best local light and visual artists and designers.
