Our Best Dressed Picks from the 2023 Met Gala

MET Gala 2023 Best Dressed

Arguably one of the biggest nights in fashion, the first Monday in May (or Tuesday if you’re in Australia) AKA Met Gala Monday is here!  The 2023 Met Gala celebrated “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” in honour of the late designer, creative director and photographer.   From styles from the archives, recreations of couture classics, to nods of the man himself (and even his beloved feline Choupette), this year's Met Gala did not disappoint. Whilst some of our favourites weren’t in attendance (Blake Lively) 😢 we still managed to find some outfits/celebs to make our best-dressed list.

Ashley Graham in custom Harris Reed

Plus size model Ashley Graham Met Gala 2023

A nod to a dress from the Chanel Autumn/Winter 1987 Haute Couture Show.  Model Ashley Graham stunned in this structural pink satin and black velvet custom gown.

Dua Lipa in vintage Chanel Couture

Dua Lipa and Claudia Schiffer Met Gala 2023

Originally worn by Lagerfeld muse, Claudia Schiffer in the Autumn1992 Haute Couture show. The singer and 2023 MET board member wore this corseted crinoline tweed Chanel Bride gown.

Naomi Campbell in Chanel Couture

90's supermodel Naomi Campbel

One of the more toned-down pieces of the night, the supermodel wore a molten pink Grecian-like gown, with silver feather embellishments.

Whilst many opted for pieces from the 90’s, Naomi Campbel went for something more modern from Largerfelds' spring/summer 2010 haute couture show.

Lily Collins in Vera Wang

Lily Collins Emily in Paris Met Gala 2023

One of the many black and white looks (and one of our favourites) actor Lily Collins wore custom Vera Wang with an ivory lingerie-inspired trapunto bodice and black silk skirt, that was finished off with a silver sequin KARL on the train.

Doja Cat in Oscar de la Renta

Doja Cat Met Gala 2023

Ok we know this one is a little wild, but hear us out, we absolutely loved this number.

Wearing facial prosthetics, Doja was Lagerfeld's much-loved Choupette personified. Aside from the human/feline hybrid features, the singer wore a backless beaded figure-hugging gown that flowed into a fluffy feathered train, finished off with an encrusted hood complete with little cat ears.

If you’re going to dress like arguably one of the most famous cats, you better make it chic.

Feeling inspired by this year's Met Gala theme? Lagerfeld helped make Chanels tweed an iconic element of the brand and with all the tweed on the red carpet, the Paris Jacket and Skirt are an easy and chic way to integrate the iconic fabric into your own wardrobe.

Or for something black and lacy (a frequent favourite of Largerfelds) the Arabella Lace Top is a must.
